Baking is getting very common in every household and everyone likes to bake themselves nice things at low cost and more hygiene. If you are one of them then don’t worry you don’t need a stand mixer no doubt it is a great addition to your big bakeries but no need for it in house baking hobbies or one in a while cooking, then all you need is a nice inexpensive and perfectly doing its job hand mixer.
Even if you are a long time baker owning a heavy duty stand mixer but need to purchase for quick recipes then this hand mixer will work fine. The mixer itself is well built and sturdy. We have never thought mixers needed to be a fancy appliance so this one would be a small step up. The "step up" would be: different tools that go with it and case for the tools that snaps on and nice looking design.
The hand mixer is very much known for its size and the space you can save while stand mixers take up all your compartments space. This amazing Decker MX600B hand mixer is 3.8 x 10.87 x 9.8 inches which will smoothly fit into any corner of your kitchen and you won’t even notice it is there.
Color is not as pictured; it is a much brighter teal but not the deep, dark, classier looking shade. It's not a picky thing we know but for whom it's worth, for them we will just inform them. Beyond the color, the actual mixing arms are plastic and they're short.
You can mash potatoes and it will sit back steadily, and that's a great thing in a hand mixer. And probably most importantly, there will be no lumps in the mash potatoes.
But, again, good as this mixer may be at mixing and beating, it's the storage case that takes it over the top; it's so neat and tidy when not in use. All the accessories and the cord fit nicely into the bottom and the mixer itself snaps on at the top as the cover. It is great for putting away and not losing any of the pieces. The body of the mixer has a slight plastic feel to it. The cord is stiff and not very long, not a very nice rubbery quality cord but will do just fine.
The shape of the reinforced-nylon helix beaters is supposed to maximize your mixing surface area and mixing performance and they will work fine for you. The motor is more powerful at 250 watts. And the motor runs at 5 speeds, with a turbo boost option at any of the speeds.
The 250 watt motor runs strong and powerful and not noisy or super loud. Power might or might not be more than enough for you depending on the need. If you are looking for some quick work on light dough, eggs or even cake batter then you will be more than happy with its power but if you want to use it for big bakery lobes then you should definitely get a stand mixer. The power can also be managed with the speeds; you can move to slow up to 1 for whisking eggs or whipping cream and to 5 for dough or heavy cake batters.
With three different attachments, 2 helix beaters for mixing, 2 dough hooks, and one wire whisk, it's as good as or perhaps better than any hand mixers you have had in the past. The helix beater comes in hand to mash potatoes, beat several eggs for the soufflés or mousse cakes. This is also a very good present for your elders who have pain in their muscles every time they knead dough. This will help them to just grab the mixer and quickly get rid of that pain forever.
We like the helix beaters and the fact they won’t scrape up your bowl. The beaters however collect dough which gets stuck in blades and at the top of the stem of the beater. You might have to stop from time to time and unclog the butter and sugar for a cake. There is no eject button to get the blades out, so you have to get in there with your clean hand and pull those out. If your batter is slightly thicker than crepe batter it will ride up on your blades and ball up somewhere up top. Plastic covering blades does not help our batter slide out back into the bowl. But when you are looking for some good price then stopping once or twice won’t be such a big deal.
You can whip up some macaroons and the results will be flawless. Super easy to use we’d totally recommend this purchase based on the fact that all attachments stay with the mixer, but it also worked very well.
This one is an inexpensive hand mixer even if something went wrong you don’t have to worry that you have lost a ton of money. There are numerous nooks and crannies to clean out. They would probably clean well in a dishwasher cycle but for a quick clean up in a sink of water, clean up takes longer than stainless steel beaters.
Use it today to make cupcakes and buttercream frosting, it will be great, powerful but quiet, no mess either.
